The Times adds 10p to cover price

News International's The Times will be the latest newspaper to raise its cover price this year. The weekday editions will go up by 10p to 80p from Monday (September 1).

A Catholic priest is staging a beauty contest for nuns. Father Antonio Rungi, from southern Italy, says he wants to shake of the dowdy image of nuns as "old and sad" looking. This is the first time that a contest of this kind has been staged. Contestants are being invited to send their pictures through on Father Antonio’s website where a selection will be featured for a public vote. The priest is expecting around 1,000 entries and has already begun planning next years event.
