M&S takes fresh direction with new food ads
Marks & Spencer has unveiled a new food television advertising campaign in a bid to confirm its commitment to selling and using only free range products and using no artificial colours of flavours.
The first of the two TV spots, created by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, is called ‘Eggs’ and features the familiar voice of Dervla Kirwan.
The media planning and buying is being held by Walker Media.
Set to Mellow Yellow by Donovan, the ad shows a number of ways eggs can be prepared, including scrambled, boiled, in a flan and spaghetti.
The voiceover explains that all M&S eggs and those used in its products are free range.
The second ad ‘Colours’ runs through a series of shots of brightly coloured foods including carrots, raspberries, asparagus, ice cream and cakes and explains that all M&S food is free from artificial flavours and colours.
The ad is accompanied by Eva Cassidy’s True Colours.
The street retailer’s reconfirmed commitment to natural, free range food comes in the same week as it was voted as the UK’s greenest business, according to a survey of opinion leaders carried out by Chatsworth Communicaitons.
