Expanding FT appoints Jetha COO
Yasmin Jetha has been appointed chief operating officer of the Financial Times following its recent acquisitions of recruitment website Exec-Appointments, fund management information provider Money-Media, and two leaders in the Foreign Direct Investment market OCOMonitor and OCOAssess.
Jetha will now lead and develop the FT’s global operations strategy, streamlining business processes with the aim of increasing productivity. She will also be responsible for the operational integration of all recent acquisitions.
Jetha will retain her role as chief information officer, which she started in January 2006, including responsibility for all IT services and the linking of 24 global print sites.
John Ridding, CEO of the FT, said: “Yasmin will play a crucial role as COO, identifying opportunities for the FT to be more efficient across all departments in order to free resources for investing in talent and new products.
“Our growing number of acquisitions also raises the need and the opportunity for economies of scale and the integration of the relevant systems and information technology across our businesses and platforms.”
