Enter alt description text hereBauer Radio has strengthened its relationship with Starcom by appointing the agency to handle media planning and buying for its Big City network of stations.

The agency was appointed without a pitch and now takes on the media account for the radio group’s network of stations in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland in addition to the Magic, Kerrang! and Kiss FM accounts it has handled since 2001.

The appointment comes as a result of the Bauer’s acquisition of Emap Radio in January.

Starcom will also handle media for the radio group’s digital stations which include Heat and Closer.

Steve Parkinson, marketing director at Bauer Radio, said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Starcom as we enter an exciting new period as Bauer Radio.

“This year we will see a multimillion-pound investment across the portfolio. We will drive growth across our heritage stations around the UK and invest further in launches such as City Talk in Liverpool and digital stations.”

The news comes the day after Bauer Consumer Media named Andria Vidler as chief marketing officer across all radio, magazine and TV brands.
