The Italian inspired flavoured doughnut, ‘Leonard Cheshire by Marco Pierre White,’ has a creamy white icing and cappuccino filling topped off with a dusting of chocolate and will be available throughout October.

The new creation will cost £1.10 with 50 per cent of the proceeds from each doughnut donated to the charity. It is hoped that the partnership will raise £25 000 for the charity that supports over 21 000 disabled people in the UK.

As well as appearing in Krispy Kreme stores, the doughnut will also be available in Frankies restaurants, owned by Pierre White and business partner Frankie Dettori, throughout October.

Mark Bishop from Leonard Cheshire said, ‘We are delighted that Marco Pierre White has created a doughnut especially for us.  By buying a ‘Leonard Cheshire by Marco Pierre White’ customers will be rewarded with a great tasting treat, as well as the knowledge that they are supporting Leonard Cheshire’s work with disabled people.’

The promotion is one of a series of activities to celebrate the nomination of Leonard Cheshire as Krispy Kreme’s charity of the year.

The doughnut company, who recently appointed former Mission Foods marketing manager Judith Denby, launched in the UK in 2003 and has a policy of not advertising but instead promoting itself to communities by offering fundraising tools.
