Johnny & Denise fail to unseat Jamie & Harriet
Heart 106.2 FM’s breakfast show, presented by DJ’s Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott, has retained its position as the number one commercial radio breakfast show in London in the 6am to 9am slot, according to quarter one Rajar figures.
The pair pulled in 893,000 listeners during the length of their breakfast show beating rivals 95.8 Capital Radio and Magic 105.4, according to the latest Rajar results.
Capital’s breakfast show, which saw the reunion of Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen in February, runs longer from 6.00 am until 10.00 am with weekly reach in that slot totalling 943,000 listeners.
The reunion of the two former Big Breakfast presenters did help increase Capital’s weekly reach by a thousand from 942,000 in the last quarter of 2007.
Magic 105.4’s show, presented by DJ Neil Fox maintained his third place with 831,000 listeners, up from 811,000 in the last quarter.
Virgin Radio, which is currently up for sale, saw the weekly reach for its breakfast show, presented by Christian O'Connell increase 30,000 to 625,000 in the first quarter of this year.
