BMB wins £5m Gossard ad account
Beattie McGuinness Bungary (BMB) has been awarded the £5 million advertising business for lingerie brand Gossard without a pitch.
BMB is the first retained agency for Gossard in three years, and the appointment signals a decisive move by owner Courtaulds to re-establish the company in the marketplace after a string of different owners in quick succession since 2000.
The move reunites the company with Trevor Beattie, BMB’s founding partner and a former creative director of TBWA, the agency that handled the account more than 10 years and coined the traffic-stopping strapline "Hello boys".
Gossard rose to fame in the nineties with its cleavage-hoisting Wonderbra brand, a licensing deal it has since lost.
Courtaulds intentions to begin a significant marketing push in the UK became clear in February when Initiative won the media planning and buying account following a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies.
