Mindshare names planning chief for Ford
Mindshare has recruited former Naked strategist Gary Armitage to be head of planning for the agency’s WPP Ford of Europe business.
Armitage will take the lead planning position across the WPP agencies working on the Ford account. These include Ogilvy & Mather, Wunderman and design agency Imagination. He will report to client leader for Ford of Europe Mike Smallwood and leader of business planning at Mindshare worldwide Marco Rimini.
Ford has just launched an integrated marketing campaign for the new look Ford Fiesta range targeting women in the 25-34 age bracket.
While at Naked, Armitage mainly worked with the Kimberley-Clark client but also on business for Unilever and Wilkinson Sword.
He is also a former head of brand development and communications for RAC and a former advertising manager for Olympus UK.
Rimini says: “Gary is a clear example of a new level of business planner that can work across agencies setting a lead planning strategy for Ford of Europe. The skills that he brings to Mindshare will help to shape our new business planning offering as we move to the completion of our worldwide restructure at year end.”
