Bauer names radio trading director
Bauer Advertising has appointed Derek Hewitt to the position of radio trading director.
Hewitt has a background in television and newspapers and was most recently a client development manager at News International. He will report to Bauer Advertising radio sales director Adrian Serle.
Hewitt will take responsibility for negotiating all agency radio deals and driving growth across Bauer’s portfolio of national and local radio stations. He will also manage the trading team.
While at News International he brokered exclusive deals with Mars and Kimberly Clark and co-ordinated a 2006 World Cup sales effort.
Serle said: “Hewitt has a wealth and breadth of experience that will help us shape our future trading strategy and we look forward to him transferring his skills to our radio business.”
Bauer secured Emap’s radio and magazine publishing interests at the end of last year. It recently appointed ODD to handle the advertising account for its Kiss FM brand.
