IPC launches new homes portal
IPC Southbank has launched a new portal housetohome.co.uk that will straddle its home interest titles such as Home & Gardens, Ideal Home and Living etc today.
Consumer goods giant Unilever has signed as a key advertiser on the new site which is being backed by an integrated marketing campaign that will include an online search and email campaign, as well as advertisements across IPC’s websites and magazines.
The new website will provide information and advice on home design and decorating and will include an inspirational photo gallery, decorating toolkits, a product finder, and a scrapbook that will enable users to store their own notes and research.
The site will also offer a retail directory with 120,000 listings.
Isobel McKenzie will take over the role as editorial director of housetohome.co.uk and the UK’s biggest-selling home title Ideal Home in July and will be tasked with further developing the site’s online community, as well as boosting its interactive functions. She will leave her current role as editor for IPC’s parent company Time Inc’s All You to return to the UK.
The development of housetohomes.co.uk was led by Homes & Gardens editor Deborah Barker. The new launch is part of IPC’s larger plans to expand its digital offerings this year.
The new site follows the successful launch of IPC Southbank’s fashion title InStyle magazine’s, which launched InStyle.co.uk in April.
IPC Media chief executive Sylvia Auton said: “I am delighted with the launch of housetohome.co.uk in what is a huge year for IPC Media's digital new product development. Housetohome.co.uk is a major standalone website, cementing IPC’s market-leading position in the home interest sector and demonstrating our commitment to innovative digital properties.”
