Bauer appoints Capital's Lyons to head digital team
Bauer Media has appointed former Capital Radio marketing director Carl Lyons to head its digital marketing team.
He replaces Chris Lawson, who was hired last month by Virgin Radio owner TIML as brand director for the soon-to-relaunch radio brand.
Lyons joins Bauer as digital marketing director with responsibility for digital launches and development of new digital businesses. He will report to chief marketing officer Andria Vidler.
Lyons worked for Capital Radio for more than three years and was responsible for the launch of podcasts and mobile marketing, before joining mobile internet start-up Truphone as marketing director.
He has held senior marketing roles at a number of companies, including Lastminute.com, which he joined in 1999 and rose to head of UK marketing. He has also held a brand manager role at The Guardian and helped launch guardian.co.uk.
Lyons will start at Bauer Media next month.
