direct marketingThe DMA (UK) is seeking senior DMA members to stand for its Advisory Council with the potential to sit on its new Board, following its recent top level restructure.

The elected Advisory Council will focus on the strategic issues facing DMA members and the direct marketing industry and will co-ordinate a number of sub groups looking at these specific issues.

The launch of the Advisory Council is part of a wider restructure within the DMA, following a strategic review earlier this year (PM August 8).

As part of the restructure, the current Board will step down in October and will be replaced by a new smaller Executive Board, elected from the Advisory Council who will have overall responsibility for the administration and operation of the Association and fulfil the necessary legal duties.
The new Executive Board will consist of the chair, deputy chair, five representatives from the Advisory Council, two representatives from the Regional Council and up to four co-options and the Secretariat Divisional Directors (non-voting).

DMA chairman Rosemary Smith comments: “These elections are crucial to the future of the DMA. We are looking for new volunteers to take the organisation forward. It’s a chance to have a real say in how we approach the significant challenges and opportunities in the industry today.”

The deadline for nominations for the DMA’s Advisory Council elections is Friday.
