Cruikshank joins Billington Cartmell
Former DraftFCB client services director Ian Cruickshank (pictured) is joining Billington Cartmell as head of direct marketing.
Cruickshank, who joins the agency next month, left DraftFCB in December as part of a management exodus. He took voluntary redundancy, while his role on the General Motors account was absorbed by managing partner Toby Fairclough. Cruickshank was one of three senior managers to leave the agency.
Prior to DraftFCB, Cruikshank worked at Proximity London, where he was board account director with responsibility for the Volkswagen, Panasonic Mobile, BT Mobile and Astra Zeneca accounts. Previously, he worked on the Vauxhall and GM Card account during a three-year stint at TBWA/GGT. He oversaw a number of other accounts, such as Alliance & Leicester credit cards, The Sun, News of the World and Thomas Cook (PM February 24, 2006).
At Billington Cartmell, Cruickshank will oversee the whole direct marketing department. The agency’s latest campaign was for Lucozade Hydro Active. The campaign launched at the beginning of April and targeted gym-goers who take up exercise in the New Year but lose motivation once the initial enthusiasm wears off.
The campaign was supported by an integrated campaign, which included online, specialist press advertising, on-pack communication and point of sale material within gyms.
