Aegis buys green agency Clownfish
Aegis, parent of Carat and Vizeum, has bought ethical marketing agency Clownfish for an undisclosed sum.
Clownfish, which already works with the marketing communications group for clients including Coca-Cola and Reebok, will become part of digital agency network Isobar.
The brand sustainability company, which counts Tesco among its clients, was behind the launch of the Cath Kidston designed eco friendly shopping bags last year. Profits from the bags, which were available exclusively through Tesco, went to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The company offers a number of proprietary tools, including the STEER self-assessment tool that aims to help companies identify the risks and opportunities for brands engaging in sustainability.
Robert Lerwill, chief executive of Aegis, says: “Clownfish is a highly strategic investment for Aegis in a high potential space. We know the Clownfish team well, and respect both their approach and the results they get.
“This acquisition will better help our clients, by linking marketing communications and sustainability in a robust and meaningful way. It is also a key plank in our own sustainability strategy, demonstrating our corporate commitment to an important area.”
Aegis recently registered organic revenue growth of 8.2 per cent for the first of the financial year with 29 per cent of sales through digital.
