ITV.com backs football series with online magazineITV.com is to launch an online magazine to promote its Legends football series, which launches this week on ITV4.

The series features a team of England football legends from the 1980s and 1990s who take on teams from Scotland, Germany and Ireland.

The team includes former players such as Graeme Le Saux, Stan Collymore and Bryan Robson and is managed by former Everton, Manchester City, Sunderland and Leeds United boss Peter Reid.

The magazine will take the form of a 12-page digital scrapbook for the England team and will feature irreverent content such as an interactive sport the Wag quiz and a unique take on the traditional football sticker books.

The online magazine will be emailed to 300,000 itv.com subscribers and will also be available through itv.com. The content will be updated throughout the tournament and aims to raise awareness of itv.com's sports coverage and the programme, which will also be available to watch on itv.com.

ITV.com commissioned digital sports publishing company Made Up Media to create the Legends magazine. Made Up Media has also worked on weekly football eZine Catflap Magazine, rugby site Scrum Of The Earth, golf site In Golf We Trust and cricket site Eat Cricket.

Marc Webber, head of content at itv.com, said, "The England Scrapbook is a brilliant way of taking the passion of the Legends as we remember them into the digital age. It's got the old soccer sticker album, some quirky facts and really shows off the atmosphere of what will be a great summer of football on ITV4 and itv.com."

Legends launches on ITV4 on Thursday.
