Last.fm to relaunch global site to improve user experience
Last.fm is to overhaul its global site with enhanced navigation and design to improve the user experience.
The relaunch, which is expected to go live in July, will include its 12 local language versions.
The move aims to improve navigation of the site and make it easier for subscribers and new members to use. It's understood a beta version will be launched first for subscribers before a full roll out.
Last week Last.fm announced it would partner with AOL Europe to relaunch the web portal's online radio platform, AOL Radio (nma.co.uk 08.05.08). The move follows similar deals in the US between Last.fm owner CBS and AOL.
US broadcasting giant CBS bought London-based Last.fm in May last year for $280m (£144m), in a deal which the new owner said would signal new investment for the site.
The company is exploring ways to monetise the global site while it continues to open further sales offices across Europe.
